Hi guys π After recently decorating my apartment for fall, I wanted to share with you a few simple and cheap decor ideas that you can also spice up your space with!
I hate clutter, so having a centerpiece that looks festive but is also functional is important to me. To achieve this, I filled a fruit basket with red apples and placed it in the center of the dining room table.
In line with the trend of functionality, I filled small glass jars with nuts and lined them up on my kitchen counter. Not only are they tasty and healthy, but they look great on display.
When it comes to buying small decor items, I am a huge fan of the dollar store. I bought these pretty fall napkins for only three dollars. I placed them on top of my wine rack by the dining room table to add some fall vibes to my (small but growing!) wine collection.
The dollar store also has some great fall themed dish towels. I bought three different pattens and swapped out my plain white cloths to freshen up the kitchen.
Probably the simpliest tip that I have to decorate for fall is to buy yourself a squash or a pumpkin to put on display! My lovely neighbour gave me this one and it is the perfect color – classic fall orange.
If you can’t get your hands on a real pumpkin, the dollar store has plenty of options in a variety of textures and colors. I picked up a few metallic orange plastic ones to place on either side of my TV, and on a side table in my bedroom.
There are always a ton of pinecones and acorns on the ground outside this time of year, but if you want to keep things on the simpler side and less on saving a few dollars (like me), than you can grab a bag of fake ones at the dollar store. I bought two small bags for two dollars and fifty cents each to fill this copper dish (another great dollar store find!), and this mason jar. The dish is a great centerpiece for my coffee table, and the mason jar looks great by the sink in my guest bathroom.
Finally, what’s fall without a trip to Bath and Body Works? The prices can be high on their candles and soaps, but they usually have coupons available so you never have to pay full price. There is nothing simplier than lighting up a fall candle or washing your hands with a scented foaming cleanser to instantly get you excited about the season. My favourite soaps right now are the crisp morning air and the autumn citrus sandalwood.
The candle selection in store and online can be quite overwhelming! With so many to choose from, I usually try to match the colors on the candle label to the color patterns in each room of my apartment. My three favorites right now are cranberry woods, pumpkin pecan waffles, and cider lane. All smell amazing!
I hope that this post inspired you to decorate your own living space for fall this year. If you have any more effortless and affordable tips for fall decorating, let me know in the comments below.
