Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain Review

Hi guys!

I needed to write this post to tell you all how great these Sephora Cream Lip Stains are. If you’ve already tried them yourself I’m sure you know what I mean. If not, read on to learn all of the reasons why I think they’re a top notch lip product.

These cream stains are a very interesting formula, as they are a liquid lipstick with a very moussey Β but smooth texture. The formula does not dry out your lips at all, and I find that I can wear these for hours without getting that annoying dry feeling.

The smell of these are a little bit chemically, but I am not bothered by it. Just be warned if you’re really sensitive to smells! I would open up a tester at Sephora to make sure that you are comfortable with the scent.

The wand on these is really great. I find it to be the perfect size to apply product precisely without feeling like it’s taking you forever to get your lipstick on.

Sephora Collection products are usually a litre bit cheaper than other brands and these lippies are no exception. They are $18 each, and a couple shades are on saleΒ right now for $11 as I am writing this.

The shade range is really fantastic with colors ranging from reds, corals, pinks and purples. No matter what kind of lip color you enjoy wearing you’re likely to find one that you love in this collection.

I have two colors that I bought back in the spring: #12 African Violet and #04 Coral Crush

Both are very intense, vibrant colors. Here they are swatched and myself wearing them on my lips:

In terms of application, I recommend making sure your lips are exfoliated and moisturized before applying these. As with any liquid lipstick, sometimes the liquid consistency can settle into your fine lines and emphasize them. Exfoliating and moisturizing can help reduce that.
Another thing that can help prevent the product from making lines on your lips more prominent is to line and fill them in with either a matching liner or a nude one. I usually will use a nude liner (because I certainly don’t have the money to buy a matching liner for every lip color that I have!) and it works just fine. This also helps to guide you with application, and prevents product from straying past your lip line.

These lip products stand out from the rest of the liquid lipsticks on the market because of their price, shade range and comfortable formula. If you haven’t given these a try yet and you love liquid lipsticks, definitely give them a go πŸ™‚

Since fall is now less than a month away, I am planning on picking up the shades #14 Blackberry Sorbet and #15 Polished Purple to wear once it cools down here in Canada.

What shades have you tried? Let me know in a comment πŸ™‚

Thanks for reading!
