Hi guys!
In the spirit of summer, I bought this kit weeks ago and couldn’t wait to try out all of the products in it! A few (the Nars bronzer and Becca highlight) are really popular products that I’ve been wanting to try for years, and others (like the lip gloss and the Laura Mercier shadow stick) I have never heard of but was still interested in trying out.
In this review I will take you through my thoughts on 7 out of the 8 products in this kit, as well as information on prices of full size products compared to the overall kit value. I will also include photos of a complete makeup look that I did using all of the makeup products.
The theme of this Sephora favorites is definitely summer. Each product was put in here to help achieve a bronzy glow from your face to nails and body. The box is also very summery and pretty. I’ll definitely be saving it! The kit retails for $48 on Sephora.ca and is limited edition.
The first product that I want to mention but I do not have much to say on is the Vita Liberata Phenomenal 2-3 Week Tinted Tan Mousse. I have never self-tanned and don’t even own a tanning glove, so I have not tried this. It is nice to have on hand if I ever want to give self tanning a shot, but I can’t see myself trying it out until the fall/winter months when I am in need of some color. A full size 4.22 oz bottle is $62, and in this kit you receive a 0.86 oz product.
The next product is a 0.08 oz of Nars Laguna Bronzer. This was the first time I’ve ever used this bronzer and after finally trying it I can say that I love it! It’s a very smooth formula and the color is perfect if you have a little bit of a tan.
A full size pan of Laguna is 0.28 oz and sells for $52. Since I really only get a lot of use out of bronzer 2-3 months of the year, this little mini size is perfect for me. Plus it’s really easy to travel with because it’s so tiny!
Next is the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal. This is such a beautiful highlight that will look good on pale or tan skin. The formula feels very creamy and the glow that this gives off is incredible.
The product that you get in this kit is 0.085 oz, which is great for a highlight if you don’t always use a lot like I do. In my newest youtube video I explain that I normally only use highlight on the tops of my cheekbones. Link to watch here.
A full size of this product is 0.28 oz and $46. If you’re someone who loves highlighters, than you probably already own opal in full size. However if you’re someone who wants to have a couple different highlights on hand but know that you’ll never go through a full sized pan, than this little one is a good option.
Next up is a full size 0.05 oz Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Copper. This product is amazing, I honestly can’t rave enough about it. It is extremely pigmented and just glides onto your eyes with no tugging. I’ve already used this a bunch of times to easily create a bronze eye look. If you were to buy this individually it will cost you $35.
The next product is my least favorite of the kit, which is really disappointing! This is the full size Smashbox Always Sharp Waterproof Kohl Liner in Penny Lane. I have a lot of colourpops creme gel liners in some crazy colors, so I was looking forward to owning a bronze/brown liner for the waterline that would look a little more neutral and toned down. Unlike the colourpop creme gel liners, this one does not show up on my waterline very well at all. The hand swatch looks fine, but it is no where near as intense as I would prefer it when I apply it onto my eyes.
This liner has a cool concept with the built in sharpener in the cap, but if the pigmentation isn’t there than a cool additional feature like that is not enough for me to like a product. To buy this on its own will cost $25.
Moving into lip products, this mini 0.035 oz Tarte Amazonian butter lipstick in Park Ave. is so cute. I love the packaging on it, and it’s the perfect size to throw into your bag when you go out.
The color is a beautiful pinky nude that would suit any makeup look. Plus the formula isn’t drying and leaves a soft sheen to your lips. A full size 0.1 oz tube of this sells for $20.00.
The second lip product is a full size BareMinerals Marvelous Moxie Lipgloss in Trail Blazer, which sells for $23 if bought individually. This is a amazing gloss. It smells like mint chocolate chip, is very smooth, and has a little bit of a cooling sensation on your lips. It isn’t as intense at the Buxom White Russian gloss that I have reviewed in the past (link to read here) but I know a lot of people will prefer the subtle cooling effect as opposed to something more intense.
The color is a peachy pink that compliments bronze makeup perfectly. I’ve been wearing it all the time!
The last product that you receive in this kit is a mini 0.13 oz Formula X The Colors – Revved Up in Rose Gold nail polish.
In hindsight I should’ve painted my nails with this before doing this post, but hey, no ragrets (if you get that reference please let me know in a comment). Regardless, it is a beautiful polish that lasted on my nails for three days (no top coat) without chipping. If my polish can last throughout the entire weekend without needing a touch up, I’ll take it! If you wanted to buy a full size 0.4 oz bottle of this polish it will cost you $13.
My overall thoughts on this kit are as follows: I love that it includes a variety of different types of beauty products and not just makeup. Even though I haven’t yet used the self tanner I think that including it along with a nail polish was a great way to incorporate some variety into the kit.
Secondly, the price of this kit is $48, where as if you were to buy all of these things on their own it would cost you $279. That is CRAZY. Yes, some of the products that you get are not full size products, but if your goal is to try out some new-to-you products you can do so without having to spend a ton of money or end up with a bunch of leftover product if you decide that you don’t like something. Even though I’m not a fan of the eyeliner and I haven’t tried the tanner, this kit is definitely worth buying if you want to try even just two or three of the products featured in it.
My last overall comment is that I really appreciate how well the products work and look together. I did my makeup using all of the makeup products in this look and took some photos:
I will be listing what products I used where on my face this week on instagram: @makeupforglasses
Remember that this Sephora favorites kit is limited edition, so if you want to grab this deal don’t wait too long!

Thank you! 🙂 Maybe not, it seems to cater toward tanner skin. I’m super pale in the winter but I tan easily so I need to make the most of these products now 🙂
