Hi guys!
A fashion post has been long overdue for me, so let’s just get right into it.
I wanted to share with you a amazing tip for buying clothes that is super simple but is often overlooked. I like to call it buying backwards (mostly because I needed a title for this post π
With the changing seasons comes changes in clothing stores and online sites in terms of the items that they have on display. Spring is fast approaching, so right now stores are overhauling all of their merchandise. Out with the old and in with the new. Employees are dressing their mannequins in pretty floral dresses while that big chunky sweater that everyone wanted a few months ago is moved to the sale rack.
I know that I can’t be alone when I say that I get really excited for this time of year because of this. There is something so refreshing about seeing all of the bright and pastel colors lining the store windows and on every clothing websites’ homepage after months of cold weather. I also know that I can’t be the only one who let’s the excitement take over and buys the bright orange shirt because well,Β its a bright orange shirt and its almost April.
Personally, the last thing I want to do during this awesome time is to take the awesomeness down a notch by looking at wooly sweaters and infinity scarfs, even if they are less than half price. It’s just not the right time. Right?
Wrong. I’m going to make a effort this season to buy a couple of the reduced winter items because it’s honestly the best gift you can give yourself once winter comes rolling back around.
Case in point: In November of last year I was browsing Necessary Clothing’sΒ website for a new years dress and checked out the sale section on a whim. The had a ton of spring/summer items that were all less than half of their original prices. So along with my new years dress I added a few of them to my cart.
When they arrived I tried them on to make sure that they fit properly, and then stored them away with all of my other spring and summer clothes.
Now that spring is almost here, I am so excited that I don’t have to spend any of the money that I have now on new spring clothes to freshen up my wardrobe. They are already in my closet thanks to winter 2015 me, and I couldn’t be happier for giving my future self a little present and saving some money in the process π

I hope this reminded you to take advantage of out of season sales, even if the type of clothes that are discounted are the last thing on your mind. Your future self will thank you for it, I promise!
