Hi guys!
I don’t know about you, but I hear all the time that if you’re going to invest in any beauty products then investing in your skin is the way to go. While I totally agree that you only have one face and that you should take care of it, that doesn’t necessarily mean that you should spend a fortune in order to do so.
Today I’m going to share with you my tried and true drugstore skincare products that I have been using for years now, and totally love.
First is the Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer for combination/oily skin. This has been my daily moisturizer for as long as I can remember. I love it because it’s not too heavy, but also does a excellent job of keeping my face moisturized throughout the day. It also has a SPF of 15 and a great dispenser that keeps the product sanitary (as opposed to dipping your fingers into a pot). I buy this for around twelve dollars at Walmart.
Next is a cream that I use mostly as a summer night time moisturizer when it’s very hot even at night. I’ll sometimes even use it during the winter at night if I am feeling extra oily, but the light, gel consistency of it is perfect for summer. The Garnier Moisture Rescue ย Refreshing Gel-Cream for normal/combo skin is twelve dollars at Walmart and feels on your face just like the name suggests. This stuff is amazing when the thought of putting on a thick night cream is grossing me out. It’s a clear cream that soaks into the skin very easily and quickly, and also does a great job at moisturizing.
The night cream that I love to use in the winter and occasionally in the summer when I’m feeling a little dry is the Aveeno Active Naturals Fresh Essentials Hydrating Night Cream. This stuff smells amazing (a fruity/citrus scent) and contains vitamins A, C and It moisturizes my face overnight but doesn’t suffocate my oily skin to the point where I wake up in the morning I feel gross. I love using this stuff, and have bought multiple pots of it at Walmart for twenty dollars.
The next product is awesome if you have acne prone skin like myself. I use the Oxy Deep Pore Acne Vanishing Treatment to both spot treat and prevent pimples. If I have a breakout I’ll apply a little bit of this cream to it and it helps to bring it to a head or fade it out altogether. I also use it at night on my T-zone to prevent any breakouts on the oiliest parts of my face. This stuff has 5% benzoyl peroxide so it is very strong. If you’re not used to a strong percentage like this I recommend using it very sparingly at first until you’re sure that you’re skin can handle the dryness that it may cause. (In my case, I used proactiv for years before slowly weening myself off of it, but I realized that I still needed a strong dose of benzoyl peroxide to keep my skin clear. I’m planning on doing a whole other skin care post where I go into more detail on this topic, so that’s enough of this one ๐ This is sold at Walmart for ten dollars.
Lastly is one of the best eye creams I’ve ever tried in my life. The Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream is the most expensive product in this post (retailing at, you guessed it, Walmart for twenty nine dollars) but I really believe that it is worth it. I’ve had the same tube of this for over two years and still have product left. When you’re using a product only for small areas like around your eyes it doesn’t take much to get the job done. I only use this at night and apply it with my ring finger underneath my eyes and in the “crows feet” area. I have to say that this is the only anti-aging eye cream I’ve ever used and I there are no crows feet in sight!
I hope this post was helpful if you are looking for some skincare that won’t completely drain your bank account. Like this post if you’d like to see one dedicated to my entire skincare routine ๐
