Happy New Year! For my first post of 2016 I’m really excited to be reviewing a drugstore brow product that is actually really good!
The Brow Stylist Definer by L’Oreal is definitely mimicking the Anastasia brow whiz in size, shape and format. When I saw it at Shoppers Drug Mart I had to buy it because it looked so similar to the brow whiz, but cost $13.99 compared to $27.00.
Both products have a spooly on one end and a thin pencil on the other. I was really impressed that L’Oreal included this because it’s so convenient to have readily available to blend the product into your brows so that it looks natural.
Both of these L’Oreal and Anastasia products that I own are called “Dark Brunette”, both have o.oo3 oz. of product, and both have the same waxy texture. Looking at both of the pencil tips side by side, they also appear to have the same sized fine point tip.
The only difference that I can detect between these two products is that the are two slightly different shades of brown. The swatch on the left is the L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer and the swatch on the right is the Anastasia Brow Whiz. The Brow Whiz is a warmer tone of brown compared to the cooler toned Brow Definer.
To really pit these two products against each other I filled in my left eyebrow using the L’Oreal pencil and my right eyebrow using the Anastasia pencil. Both applied really easily and blended out well using the respective spoolys.
Both lasted well throughout the day, and there was no signs of one fading quicker than the other.
These pictures were taken after a day of wear:
I definitely think that the L’Oreal pencil is a dupe for the Anastasia one. The two are so similar in almost every aspect that I can’t see myself purchasing the Anastasia one over it. In fact, I like the L’Oreal “Dark Brunette” pencil better because of it’s cooler tone, which I think suits my hair and skin tone better than the warmer Anastasia “Dark Brunette.”
Have you tried this product? If so, what are your thoughts?
