Today I’m reviewing some of Arbonne’s products from their holiday line. I have been using both the It’s a Long Story Mascara ($36.00) in “Royal Purple” and their Kiss at Midnight Lip Conditioner Trio ($40.00).
Arbonne is a really high quality brand “with pure, safe, beneficial products and cruelty–free formulas” throughout their skincare and makeup. The two products I have were bought by my family doctor who is an Arbonne representative (which says something!). I figured that if my the doctor that I’ve been seeing since I was an infant was advocating for this brand than it was worth a try.
The packaging on the mascara is very nice. I love that it comes in a bright purple tube to remind me that this is a purple mascara!
I don’t own any other purple mascaras (how many do you really need), so I have nothing to compare it to color-wise. I find that it’s a pretty subtle color once applied to the lashes. You can definitely tell that you’re wearing a purple mascara, but it’s not something that someone who is standing 10 feet away from you will notice. I like that it is subtle and not too jarring. My favorite way to wear it is on the lower lashes for an unexpected twist.
The brush is very large which makes t difficult to coat every single tiny lash, and I have to wipe off some excess product off of the tip of the wand before I apply it to my lashes. Besides those two gripes I have with this mascara, I think it’s an awesome addition to any makeup lovers collection. It does add length and just the right amount of subtle color to my lashes.
In my opinion, The Kiss at Midnight trio is the real standout out of these two products. I adore a good moisturizing lip product, and all three of these give me that along with really nice color and shine.
These look and feel great worn on their own, but I’ve been really into wearing them over other lip products. I’ve been especially loving “Rose” over top of Too Faced’s melted lipstick in “Peony”to get the perfect pink lip color. “Berry” is great to wear this time of year with really minimal eye makeup, and “Peach” really sheers out on the lips to a clear sheen, so you really can’t go wrong with it.
Overall I’m impressed with these Arbonne products. If you’ve tried these or any others let me know what your thoughts are on them! I’m thinking about trying out their skincare, so let me know if you have any recommendations.
