I just recently gave my makeup station a little upgrade and thought I would share some photos with you π
I received this vanity from my grandmother a few years ago. Although it was a beautiful brown color with roses on the table top, I wanted a sleeker look. To achieve this I spray painted the entire vanity and the chair black. It’s not flawless but it was my first time spray painting anything, so I’m happy with the way it turned out.
These little three drawer plastic cubes are around severn dollars each at Walmart. I have six of them and stacked them on top of one another to save space. It also works nicely to store away any seasonal makeup in the top compartment of the bottom cubes. Right now those compartments are full of summer makeup (shimmery bronzers, bright coral lipstick, etc.) that I won’t be using again for a few months.

I have a mismatch of makeup organization going on on the top of my vanity. The plastic lipstick holder is from Winners, the glass container holding more lip products is a Bath & Body Works three wick candle that I cleaned out, and the glass brush holder and beads are both from the Dollar Store. The rest of my organization are meant for office supplies. The large one in the middle holding the electric palette was grey, but I spray painted it black along with my vanity. The holder with my lipliners and brushes and the holder on the right storing more palettes were both originally black when I bough them. I purchased these from Walmart and the Dollar Store.
To give me more storage space, I bought this corner shelf from Walmart and installed it with the help of my mom and her power drill. Shoutout to my mom for being super handy! (She reads all my posts π )
The gold brush holder on the top shelf is from home sense. The pink containers holding all my eye brushes are from Sigma and came with a travel makeup brush set. The glass cube holding the Q-tips is from the Dollar Store. And just in case you’re curious about the green bottle, it’s a Quo brush cleaner that I use to spot clean my brushes as I’m doing my makeup.
Above my shelf I have a quote (board?) that is from HomeSense, and a white frame from Walmart. I had a cute little plastic bag with a lipstick print all over it that I cut out and glued to the back of the photo that came with the frame. Both are attached to the wall with velcro adhesive from Walmart.
I hope this inspire you to revamp your vanity as well π Thanks for reading!
