Todays review features a higher end lip balm that I have been using for the past month or so. The First Aid Beauty lip balm retails for $15 at sephora, and is formulated without parabens, sulfates and phthalates.
It is advertised as a lip treatment that hydrates, nourishes, and protects and is formulated to “bring the healing power of First Aid Beauty’s bestselling Ultra Repair Cream to a balm that moisturizes, nourishes, and protects your lips.”
I have never tried the ultra repair cream from First Aid Beauty, or any other first aid beauty products for that matter (this lip balm is my first!) However I have heard tons of great things and would love to sample more from the brand.
Back to this lip balm: If you read my Maybelline Color Elixir Review you’ll know that I am super picky when it comes to any lip products. I am constantly applying them because the feeling of chapped lips drives me crazy. Because of this I am always scrutinizing lip balms and how well they do their job.
– I really like the smell and the taste of this balm. It has a light, sweet minty smell and taste that isn’t too much or too overwhelming .
-The rounded plastic applicator is really comfortable to run over the lips and makes applying the product feel extra soothing.
-I find the balm to be quite thick. You really have to squeeze the tube to dispense any product on your lips.
-Although this is a moisturizing balm when first applied, I fell like the moisturization does not last a very long time on me. I find myself having to reach for this to reapply after only about a hour of wear even when I have not been eating or drinking anything.
Although I think this is a good lip balm, I don’t think it is anything amazing. I will definitely use up the tube that I have but I will not be in a hurry to repurchase once it’s gone.
Thanks for reading 🙂 Please leave any lip balm recommendations that you have in the comments down below, I’d love to hear from you!
